Illustrated in 2021 on the heel of the COVID-19 pandemic, this poster was entered into the University & College Designers Association’s annual student poster contest. Requiring the words “Moving Forward” but nothing else, this poster rejects the prompt’s thesis that the world and those living in it have moved on from the destabilizing events of the recent past, and instead presents the prompt itself as propaganda. “Keep Moving Forward”, the overlords tell us. The gears must turn.
